Barra & Vatersay are the smallest and most southerly islands of Scotland's Outer Hebrides and are often referred to as the Hebrides in miniature.  In the centre of the island is the 'tallest' peak which stands at 383 metres (more than high enough for us both to climb!!) and is called Heaval.  The largest village on the Isle of Barra is Castlebay and is the main port on the island.
